Concept

"Art is always the vehicle to bring dream and vision for mankind"
AQUARK invites Artists to imagine, visualize and present an optimistic vision of our life in the oceans in 2108.

HISTORY
  • The competition officially opened on February 10th 2008.
  • First round of Registrations closed in April 20th 2008
  • The First Round for submission of the videos ended on April 30th 2008

SUBMISSIONS to date

We would like to thank Artists from Greece, Spain, Romania, Italy, Canada, USA, Philippines, Venezuela, Netherlands and Israel that submitted their works. Some of these works were selected by the AQUART 2008 Committee and are going to be displayed soon for public voting on the AQUART 2008 - Virtual Gallery site. Several artists from Nigeria, India and China expressed intense interest to participate but lack of time to prepare their works due to short period allowed in the first submission period.

Due to Intense International artistic interest the AQUART Selection Committee decided to:

  • Extent the registration period to the 1st MAY 2009
  • Extent the submitting period to the 1st AUGUST 2009
  • Postpone the Exhibition & Award Ceremony in Athens Greece to the 4th OCTOBER 2009
  • Present the selected submitted video art works in the Virtual Gallery of the AQUART after the 1st of January 2009



DEADLINES

  • ONE YEAR EXTENTION of the AQUART Video Art Competition to October 2009!!!
  • NEW DEADLINE for REGISTRATION: 1st of MAY 2009
  • NEW DEADLINE for SUBMISSION of Video Art Works: 1st of August 2009

  • First Award:        5.000 Euros
  • Second Award:  3.000 Euros
  • Third Award:       1.500 Euros

Public Award Ceremony:

4th October 2009

  • First Award:        2.000 Euros
  • Second Award:  1.500 Euros
  • Third Award:       1.000 Euros

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?


All Video artists could apply through the web site www.ourlifeintheoceans.com

Due to the extention of the AQUART International Video Art Cometition,

In order to have a valid registration each applicant must send:

  • The registration documents by the 1st MAY 2009

  • The Video Art works by the 1st AUGUST 2009

    Early Submission of video art works pending approval by the Selection Committee leads to the exhibition of the selected video art works to the AQUART Virtual Gallery after the 1st of JANUARY 2009.
