AQUART Video Art Competition is postponed for technical reasons to 2011!!
The general terms of the competition will be re evaluated upon re-launch in late 2010!!
Indicative General terms will be as follows:
- The subject of the work of art must be related with the artist's views on our life in the ocean in 2100
- The competition is open to all irrespectively of age and there is no entry fee.
- All artists should read, agree and follow the legal terms of the competition
- All the artists must register and all the data must be true (submition of registration form)
- Art works have to be in English
- The length of the video should not exceed 5 minutes.
- The art work must be created after 2005.
- The video must be submitted in DVD (PAL) or mini dv format.
- We advise participants not to send the original video. The competition does not take responsibility in the case of loss or damage. The videos will not be returned and will be kept in the our life in the oceans archive and open virtual gallery.
- When you send your submission please write "cultural sample / no commercial value" on the envelope.
- Please also include a data CD with the following:
- 2-4 video stills
- a short biography [50-100 words]
- a short description of the work [50 words]
- Artists must include in the beginning of the video the logo of our life in the ocean competition for at least 3 seconds (this time is not considered in the total video duration.
- Artists have the right to participate with more than one video, with a maximum of four videos. A separate entry form must be completed for each video.
- The artists, whose work will be selected, will be notified through the internet by the production team of Our life in the oceans team.
- Our life in the oceans art competition is held once a year in Europe in place and time, with duration and participants' selection and according to a screenings program, all subject to the absolute choice of the production team of Our life in the oceans.
- Works of art that offend human dignity or support discriminations against individuals or groups of people based on behavior, race or nationality are not eligible for participation.
- With the submission of an entry form, participants unconditionally accept the terms of present and allow the use of excerpts or the entire film by the organizers for publicity and archive purposes.
- The production team can cancel the event at any time, provided that the circumstances render its realization unfeasible.
